Esther Alvarez and her husband Jose Luis Lopez make La Peral at their family dairy in the remote rural area of Asturias in northern Spain. Located between the ocean and the mountains, Asturias is one of the less travelled areas of Northern Spain allowing the tradition and culture of cheese making of years gone by to be preserved. 


Named after a local village, La Peral is a pasteurized cow’s milk blue that has a dense interior that gives way to a soft moist texture with a full-bodied caramel sweet flavour and savoury finish, as it ages.
